Potato's NFL Power Rankings + FA/Draft Grades! (Teams 17-32)

17. Seahawks:

FA: D

-It’s tough. I think Howell could be better than Geno on day one. That could change this whole team. I don’t think he’ll start day 1, though, but Seattle in a hole they gotta dip out of. They had no leverage with Leonard Williams meaning they had to pay him a lot of money. Also tough. I would have rather have reached for a preferred DT in the draft.

Draft: A-

-Murphy II could easily be the best defender in the class, playing alongside and learning from Leonard Williams is nice but honestly the draft pick makes me wish they hadn't traded for and signed Leonard even more. Seahawks desperately need IOL which is why Haynes who was maybe the best pure G in the class was a steal round 3. Getting a pair of Auburn CBs is pretty nice. I wish they had drafted a backup QB tho.

18. Chargers

FA: F

-It’s not even that I hate moving off of Keenan and Mike Williams… But the cut/trade game so late that they don’t have time to make an impact in the FA. Then there are rumors of targeting a T at pick 5… I mean who is Herb throwing to? Well, Harbaugh is run first offense… umm one that’s a waste of top 10 QB. Two… who the fuck is their RB? I love Gus Edwards he’s the type of RB I want my Chiefs to have. A short downage RZ threat. He’s perfect for a PASS first offense which now they won’t be. I don’t want Gus running 30 carries a game. This team isn’t ready. I mean they can make the playoffs as WC but they have no chance of beating the Chiefs and the other big dawgs in the AFC. Which is why I would have retooled this team even more. I mean why not trade Mack and or Bosa too. New coach, new system, new stars. They would have so much cap. An elite QB, OL, and coach. They could retool very quickly.

Draft: C+

-I LOVE Joe Alt. He's the best T prospect since Sewell. I hated the idea of the Chargers trading down and missing out on Nabers for a T... But if they stayed at 5 and tok Alt that's not bad at all. Ladd McMOnkey is not the answer at WR but they desperately need any pass catchers. Junior Colson is necessarily a reach but its not a primary need for the Chargers. Cam Hart is my favorite pick by LA he's so underrated. Then they got two upside WRs in the 7th round which I loved. Idk why people are trying shit on Rice like he's literally a 7th-round pick. But this team is supposedly moving away from passing and into a rush first offense with Alt and Slater... But who's the RB? Gus Edwards? Vidal who? I think they could have prioritised a more explosive RB day 2.

19. Bills:

FA: F

-Was it inevitable? I think so. They went all in the years past. Now they gotta cut their loses dropping several vets some of which can’t stay on the field. Diggs wanted out and was causing problems. Getting less than a FRP back? L. Finally had a RB? Gone. Would I have chosen Diggs over McDermott? Hell yes.

Draft: B+

-Giving the Chiefs a WR is a no no. But I won’t knock them for trading down which I think was a good idea just not with who they traded down with. I'm lower on Keon then most I didn't have a first round grade and they took hi top of the 2nd I think their were better WRs and players avaibale. Though Bishop was a snag. Everyone who needed a C I think slept on Van Pran. I also had grades on Solomon and Hardy who they get late. Not too familair with Ray Davis and they need a RB tho.

20. Titans:

FA: B+

-Titans had several keyholes and several key strengths. They did a good using all that cap space and focusing on those needs. Starting with OL which was maybe the worst in the league. They built it from the inside out making a Cushenberry II the 2nd highest-paid C in the league after the retirement of Kelce and Jensen... Don't get me wrong Curshnberry is one fo the better Cs in the league, young, a not injury prone, but that's still a lot of money for a C after letting one of the best RBs ever walk away. I'm not in love with his replacement Pollard. Pollard is the polar opposite style of a RB than Henry, he's quick, shifty, pass-catching back who's more dangerous in open space. His weaknesses come in short downage and the RZ where he might struggle to get you a yard when you really need it, Spears the backup is a similar profile. The Titans also needed more pass-catching weapons singing Ridley to a massive long-term deal. I'm a big fan of Ridley and I think this move simplifies their needs moving forward in the draft. The last glaring weakness of the Titans is the secondary which they went out and got one of the best CBs in FA in Awuzie and traded for the best CB in 2022 La'Darius Sneed for a bag of chips… though the contract they gave Sneed was no bag of chips. Zooming out I love how all the major signings the Titans made were players who have limited injury history. Kenneth Murray is one of the most interesting signings replacing the role of Al-Shaiir as the QB of the defense. He's a very rangey ILB coming off a down year with the Chargers following his best year yet in 2021. Imo the Chargers always misused Murray who excels most in disguising his blitz and blowing up plays by attacking the G gap.

Draft: B+

-Missing out on Joe Alt sucks but Callahan got his guy still. I don't guy the smoke that Latham was their number 1 guy. Alt has a higher ceiling and a more true LT. Sweat is a fantastic player stacking their front 7. Cedric Gray is a great Al-Shaiir replacement. I wish they had targetted a better WR higher but their goal this offseaon was obviously the secondary and the OL which they did fix, I like James Willaims as a in the box S

21. Colts:

FA: B-

-Overall another goof offseaon by an AFC South team. Nothing really blows you away but they resign Pittman Jr and Taylor seems settled. They also sign other key players like Kenny Moore II and Blackmon. Then they fill the DL with depth. One of the more underrated moves of the offseason is bring in Joe Flacco as the backup PG. This team's ceiling is contingent on AR15's health and development so fingers crossed. But Flacco has proven that he can still take a team to the playoffs if need be.

Draft: C

-I didn't love the Latu pick. No one has started so high and dropped so far on my board. He has production but he wasn't as explosive or tested as well as I wanted not to mention I have concerns with the neck injury and run defense. Then Indy gets the steal of the 2nd round with AD Mitchell. Other picks were just alright. Bortonlini prolly is the long-term answer at C which is great. Simpson was a nice pick.

22. Vikings:

FA: D

-So. Many. LBs… WHY?! I have no idea. Is Aaron Jones fantastic? Yes. Did they need a RB? Yes! But they don’t have a QB. Even if they draft one a rookie QB is not win now per say. They used Danielle Hunter and overpaid for all these LBs and. RB which are just not valuable positions when they need DL and CB.

Draft: B-

-I don’t believe in JJ becoming a franchise QB. But the Vikings are a great situation for a QB. Great offensive-minded HC and weapons. Dallas Turner is a massive massive steal! He will become an elite pass rusher in the league. I don’t like how the Vikings traded up BOTH times in the first round. I also didn’t love the CB they took I thought it was a reach and that they reached for the Bama kicker. That was basically their draft because they traded so many picks away to move up one spot and move up a couple spots round 1.

23. Bears:

FA: C

-Love the Swift signing. I was indifferent on giving Jaylon Johnson that much money. He’s obviously good. IS he the best CB in the league? Hell no. They had a lot of cap and didn’t use it as much as I thought they would. No need for targeting win now vets but their were a lot of elite players still young in their prime like Burns that they could have targeted.

Draft: A

-I mean they get the best player in the draft… And maybe the best WR in the class. Wow. They don’t have many picks at all which makes taking a punter really weird. Amegadjie and Booker are great value.

24. Cards:

FA: D-

-I recognize there wasn't a whole not to do with this roster. Jonah Williams helps. But if the Cards ever want to get competitive again its going to be through the draft by Kyler being healthy and getting just better. Even if they get an elite rookie WR they still need more than just one target and they didn't address that need.

Draft: A

-MHJ is a Card! Will be great to see him and Kyler work together. Can he break Puka's records? Darius Robinson and Max Melton are fantastic picks and the Benson pick is even better. Benson is arguably the best RB in the class and my type of RB. Reiman is the best blocking TE in the class. Taylor-Demerson is a steal and I've been mocking Xavier to the Cards in round 4 for months!

25. Commanders:

FA: B

-Really balanced FA imo. They bring in win now vets like Wagner to set culture. They bring in boom or bust FAs like Chinn. Ertz, Mariota, and Fowler Jr, all good vet depth top set culture and bring talent. I was hoping for more high-end singings as well tho. Luvu is awesome but its a LB… I mean they really need that game-breaking Edge and we all know they’re going Jayden Daniels in the draft. The more underrated side of their FA is what they did for the OL bringing in depth and talent.

Draft: A-

-Kliffsbury gets his guy. Daniels sure can sling it. I love the Johnny Newton pick. I think he proijects better as 3-4 Edge then a true DT. Sainistril is a nice pickup. Sinnott wasn't my favorite TE. Luke McCaffrey was a reach in the 3rd round but they do steal Jean-Baptiste round 7.

26. Saints:

FA: F

-They have no money. They need money. They didn’t clear money. I honestly hate that. Chase Young is boom or bust but its a one year deal. Will they even have the cap to resign him if he booms?

Draft: A-

-KOOL-AID IS THE BEST CB IN THE CLASS! I mean what a secondary the Saints always have and will continue to have Saints had a very interesting draft imo. Lattimore, Adebo who I loved and had a great years, and don't forget Tyran Matheiu. Fuaga is a great pick able to play RT day 1 with there's hurt currently. Though longterm he projects as the best G in the class imo. Saints needed a backup QB and didn't reach on one of the better ones.

27. Raiders:

FA: C+

-Wilkins wow. Really interesting pickup for a lot of money. Making the DL a force to be reckoned with. Losing Jacobs hurts so bad but how I can fault them they clearly tried to keep him. Gardner Minshew is an upgrade a QB one he earns the starting spot. They should still try to trade up for a QB in the draft tho. Mattison is absolute dog shit I wish they got a better replacement RB and they have did improve the IOL.

Draft: C

-Raiders round 1 was odd. It's not like they didn't try to trade up in the draft. But no one wanted to trade down. So taking Bowers was a sneaky really good pick. But on the flipside the Raiders continue to value positions of nonvalue such as TE and C. Even if they hit their upside as "generational" prospects what kind of impact will this team have especially Bowers without a QB. Glaze is a massive massive reach. Eichenberg isn't a bad pick the rest are nobodies.

28. Giants:

FA: C-

-Burns what an exciting trade. Creating one of the best and youngest pass-rushing duos in the league. This defense should be good. They still have no offense tho. I am super biased Drew Lock fan if they want to win more then 6 games Lock should start day 1 cause he’s better. But not like he’ll have a lot of help. They didn’t replace Barkley who I did they should have let go. Going to the Eagles hurts but not their fault. Singletary is ass so that’s tough. What really needs to happen is Neal to become the T or at least G that we all thought he was going to be.

Draft: B

-Nabers will be fantastic for whoever the next QB is in NY... because it is not DJ. I am all for tanking midseason this year as the Giants. Nubin might be the best safety class that they needed. Phillips is a good pick. But where is the RB?! Tracy Jr. is not going to cut it. I like Theo Johnson but they don't even use Waller enough.

29. Bucs:

FA: F

-What’s the Bucs goal? They lose so many key FAs. They bring back Baker who deserved the contract but is a bridge QB. They could have traded players like Evans and didn’t. They’re not in a position to get QB and could have targeted a boom or bust QB in FA and didn’t either.

Draft: D+

-Barton is NOT a C. And if you were trying to draft a C round 1 and you're not going with JPJ who already is an upper 2nd round pick like what're you doing? Braswell and Tykee Smith are not good. Some people are weirdly high on McMillan having him in the 2nd round sometimes... This more the range I had him in the 4th. I like Irving and they needed a RB. Culp was a little bit of a steal.

30. Broncos:

FA: F

-This team still does not have a QB... They sat idle while all the other top backup QBs go elsewhere. Then they cut their best payer in Justin Simmons and can't even trade him nor any of their many disgruntled players like Jeudy. This team is not a lock to get a QB in the draft and whoever is they are prolly going to be a bust. Ik this team didn't have a lot of cap but they made their cuts so late that they couldn't even use the money they freed up.

Draft: C

-Because of the bind they pout on themselves they had to take Bo Nix. I mean its cool and all that they paired Troy Franlin with him. I don't see that pick as a steal tho. I think Franklin would have been a bsut if he was taken round 2. Eliss is an alright pick, his run stopping isn't very promising. Abrams-Draine is a great slot CB and I like the Estime pick as well.

31. Pats:

FA: F

-So much cap space and they did nothing with it. They needed weapons. They needed impact players, stars. Go overpay for someone pls! The best thing they did was bring back Owenwu and Dugger who are good but they're not even stars in this league. They are setting their next QB up for failure.

Draft: D

-Drake Maye has massive massive upside I think he really can be a top 12 QB in the league within 3 years... but can the PAts develop him? Can they surround him with talent? I do not think they've done that this offseason. He's going to show picks and he's going to get sacked. May be an ugly year 1. I really like Polk but he was taken way too early ahead of better WRs. Polk projects as just a nice WR3 which they already have plenty of they need a WR1 X WR. Caedan Wallace is a bust. Baker is fine. Taking another QB makes no sense.

32. Panthers:

FA: C

-Very odd offseason by the Panthers imo. I feel like they got significantly worse on one side of the ball (defense) but did get better on the other side of the ball (offense). Nothing is worse then drafting your "franchise QB" and not setting him up for success and they are trying to getting a possible new WR1 and building up the interior OL to establish a run game that was non-existent in 2023. Losing a top-10 Edge and LB in Burns and Luvu hurts tho.

Draft: C+

-Brooks is a fantastic pick he could easily be the best RB in the class. Carolina clearly want to get better at the run game which is very smart. Reach for Legette, plus trading up for him for why? You have so many holes you need picks. I think he can have some wow plays but won't consistently separate. They needed a Luvu replacement and Wallace has a lot fo upside boom or bust we'll see if they use him right. Sanders is a great steal for a team that needs a TE. Barrett was one of the better picks in the 7th round.
