The Wizards are a complete dumpster fire of a team and with the first pick in this draft, they need to pick someone to build around. Cade Cunningham can be that player. Cade has one of the most complete games in the draft. He can create offence, he can shoot, he can score inside the arch, he can rebound, and he can guard and play multiple positions. Cade has great size for a Guard/Forward and he uses that to his advantage. Probably one of the best things about Cade is his floor and ceiling. His floor is probably a High End Starter/Fringe All Star. That’s incredible when you think about it. Cades ceiling? Cade has the potential to become one of the best players in the NBA. That’s how good he is. The Wizards would have to be very very low on Cade to not pick him with the 1st overall pick.

The Wolves are on the clock, and there is an obvious choice here. Evan Mobley is probably the only other player in this draft class that I could see getting picked ahead of Cade. When you watch Mobley play, there is one player that comes into mind: Chris Bosh. Evan Mobley is very very similar to Chris Bosh, and when you think about how good Bosh was at his peak, and you think that Mobley can become better than that, then you know this kid is special. Evan Mobley has the potential to become one of the best big men in the league, and thats understating what he could become. For those of you who do not know what I’m talking about, here is basically what Mobley can do: He can finish around the rim: he is a lob threat, he can create offence from anywhere on the floor, he has the perfect size for a modern day big, he can protected the rim. Basically everything you could want out of a Center in todays game.

With the 3rd pick, the Pistons need to draft basically anyone that could even remotely make them better. I see them going with the best option available and drafting Jalen Suggs. Before the College Basketball season started, Suggs was considered to be a mid to late lottery pick. Well as you probably know that’s changes. Suggs has had a monster season with Gonzaga. Suggs might be one of the best offensive players in the Draft. He does seemingly everything but shoot on offence. He can finish in the paint, he can create for his teammate, he is athletic so he can grab boards, and he is very very aggressive. Suggs has no probable driving to the rim on the biggest players and the best defenders to try and score. That aggressiveness could translate well into the NBA. He would make a huge difference for the Pistons team and hopefully he would turn them in the right direction.

The Pelicans have the 4th pick, and it’s pretty much come down to one player for them, and that’s Jalen Green. We have not seen much of Green because he is part of the G-League Ignite team and they haven’t been able to play any games yet. Right now we are judging him by how he played in high school and what we know he can do. We know he is really really good, and is probably the best scorer in the draft. He has almost no holes in his games and he is good at just about everything. He can command the offence, he can be aggressive on defence, and he can be a leader on the court. The biggest upside about Green is his potential. He has the potential to become a superstar if he reaches his ceiling, and the more I learn about him, the more I believe it. Green would be a great addition to this young team and would be a nice backcourt partner for Bledsoe/Ball. (Depending on if one of them gets traded)

The Thunder have the 5th pick, and there is an obvious choice here. Jonathan Kuminga has surprisingly fallen to 5, and the Thunder are thrilled to pick him. Kuminga is a strong, prototypical 4 for today’s game. He is explosive in the open court and possesses an ideal physical profile for the modern game. One comp that a lot of experts are giving him is Kawhi Leonard, and if Kuminga could become like Kawhi, then we know he’s a special player. Like Jalen Green, we haven’t seen much of Kuminga since he is on the G-League Ignite team. Once the G-League season starts though, we will be able to see a lot more of Kuminga and we will know if he can live up to the hype he is currently getting.

The Kings have the 6th pick in the draft, and I see them going with Scottie Barnes. Barnes has great size for a modern day wing, and he is a great defender. He isn’t the greatest offensive player in the world, but his defence for sure makes up for that. He can guard multiple positions quite well and has a lot of potential. If we are talking about what he could become, I would say that he could become an OG Anunoby type player: a wing that can play multiple positions and guard multiple positions. Barnes has the potential to become a really good wing someday, and I think that at the very least, he will become a low end starter.

With the 7th pick on the draft, the Magic need to pick someone that can help them FINALLY get out of the clutches of a rebuild. The best potential pick for them would be Zhaire Williams I think. Williams has shown the potential to become a really special player in the NBA. He can finish around the rim, he can change speeds comfortably, and he is starting to show signs of becoming a good defender. He could come into the league and be a great backcourt partner for Fultz.

The Knicks are up at 8, and I could see them going in several directions with this pick. I have them selecting Jalen Johnson. Johnson is a larger wing who plays with physicality. He could be the Knicks next experiment and hopefully this one turns out better than previous ones. Johnson would be a good fit with RJ Barret and Julius Randle. The Knicks pick Johnson hoping that he can reach his potential and become a great player someday.

The Bulls have the 9th pick, and I see them going with Moses Moody. Moody is an all around guard who can shoot the ball and play really good defence. Moody has the potential to become a really good player in the NBA if he reaches his potential. The Bulls draft Moody because Lavine is entering the last year of his contract and the Bulls don’t know if they will be able to re-sign him. Moody would be a good potential replacement for Lavine if he decides to leave in the 2022 offseason.

The Hornets are on the clock, and they decide to draft James Bouknight. With Devonte Graham entering FA this off-season, the Hornets may want to find a potential replacement if they can’t keep him. Bouknight would be a great choice as a potential replacement. This kid can score. He is probably one of the best scorers in the draft. Putting him in a backcourt with LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier would be amazing to watch cause of all that talent on offence. The Hornets could go in a different direction, but for now they are selecting Bouknight.

OKC is once again on the clock, and I have them selecting Keon Johnson. Having already selected Kuminga, the Thunder now may be looking for someone to pair on the backcourt with SGA. Johnson could be a nice fit with SGA. Johnson is the Obi Toppin of this draft. He has the hops to throw down monster slams or get blocks around the rim. Having him in the backcourt with SGA would be so fun to watch every night. Johnson could help this OKC team have one of the quickest rebuilds we’ve ever seen.

The Raptors have the 12th pick, and I have them selecting Daishen Nix. With Kyle Lowry entering FA and Norman Powell having a PO at the end of the year, the Raptors may be looking for a potential replacement for those two in the backcourt. Nix could be their guy. He would fit well with FVV and he has great size for a PG, something that the Raptors have never had. We haven’t seen much of Nix due to him being on the G-League Ignite team, but I’m sure that once we see him in action, he will start to rise up the rankings.

It looks like the Knicks have finally found their PG. Now they need to find players to fill out the rest of the lineup. Greg Brown is the choice here. Brown to me is the Patrick Williams of this draft: a guy who doesn’t put up big numbers but has shows spurts of becoming a special player. Brown has a similar game to Patrick Williams and I think he would be a great fit on this Knicks lineup. Randle is entering the last year of his contract and if he wants to leave in FA, the Knicks would already have someone to take his place.

The Spurs are on the clock, and I have them selecting Day’Ron Sharpe. With Aldridge heading into FA, the Spurs may be looking for a potential replacement for him. The best center again is Sharpe. Sharpe would be a great fit on the Frontcourt and he could develop in the Spurs amazing system for the next several years.
