Boston took a pretty big fall, but he still has potential for sure. His ability to put the ball in the basket will always be there, even if it was covered by a terrible kentucky team. I do not understand why there is such a big difference between Boston and Zaire Williams however. They are both high volume guys, but Zaire statistically had a slightly worse season. I don’t think either will be a star, but they have legit potential.

Brandon Boston Jr. is very similar to Ziaire Williams. He''s a lanky shot creator who had an underwhelming season but still shows promise that he can be a nice soccer in the league. The efficiency could scare you, but he shot well to close out the season for Kentucky, leaving some optimism for the 6-7 swingman to be a nice player in the NBA. His 42 percent mark from three over his final 10 games shows some promise as a shooter. Will probably be a really good role player (maybe a 3rd option) rather than a star, but a second round look is necessary for this guy.

Projected draft range: 30-45

1/19 Still growing into his body, very wide shooting base. Needs to tighten handle. Appears to be natural in a lot of ways but will be curious to see how much fluidity gets added in the final months of the NCAA season. Has had a horrific shooting start to his career. More turnovers than assists.

Comparisons: Brandon Ingram, Landry Shamet, Tauren Prince

Brandon Boston or BJ Boston is a positive player to have. He has great size and playes like Ingram with his finishing and defense. He also has shooting like Shamet and playmakink of of Prince.

Has a good handle and can shoot, and has solid size as well. Question is if he can create for himself, and if he can at the NBA level then he'll be a solid player.

Positives

-Very fluid athlete, 6'7 with a 6'11 wingspan, moves smoothly on the court, extremely long

-Really high upside as a shot creator, very solid handle at his size, loves the crossover, favorite move is pulling up from the mid range off one or two dribbles, comfortable with the stepback, can shoot over defenders because of his length

-Definitely has potential as a shooter despite the bad shooting numbers although a bit streaky, shot it fairly well off the catch, has upside as a movement shooter, off the dribble is a work in progress but he showed he can do it dating back to HS, mechanics and footwork look fine, 78% free throw shooter

-Improved as a playmaker over the year, likely never gonna be great here but making the basic reads and being able to run the PnR would be big

Negatives

-He REALLY struggled at the rim, lacks explosiveness and really struggles through contact, this is a massive swing factor for a guy who projects to be a scorer at the next level

-Needs to take smarter shots, part of why his %s were so bad, took some contested jumpers for no real reason, needs to pick and choose his spots, struggles to create separation a bit with an okay first step, needs to improve burst

-Inconsistent shooter, probably should make his release a bit higher because of his size, mechanics can be a bit inconsistent consistency also could have been a product of the unusual college season

-Bad defender right now, doesn't have the best foot speed and his weight also shows up as a problem here, probably will get pushed around until he gets stronger, effort and focus also wavered, when locked in he had nice moments of staying solid on-ball and getting into passing lanes using his length (these steals easily his brightest spot)

Likely range: 25-35

Boston was someone people considered a top 7 pick before the season began, and a pitiful Kentucky team has led to his stock plummeting. Still, if I was a team who wanted a guard in the late lottery, I''d take a flyer on him. He''s a good athlete, with size that makes your mouth water with his on-ball abilities. He''s been a pitiful shooter in college, but I think that''s a bit of an aberration based off of how terrible Kentucky''s spacing has been. I''m not sure if he has the star potential people once though he had, but buying low on him now gives you either a steal or the ability to sell high on him once his hungry mentality in a better situation leads to a statistically strong rookie season.

Comp:A ceiling of a Less Powerful, More Graceful Terrance Ross, the floor of out of the league

Was pretty disappointing in college, but he is a natural scorer that will undoubtably get his buckets.
