Greg Brown is the ultimate make or miss prospect. He can bounce out of the gym, but maybe that is all he can do. His defense should be better, his finishing should be better, but it just isn''t right now. I hope he develops, I really like him as a dude. He is a flyer at this point for a good team (pun intended). Seems like he may have low bball iq but I hope not.

Greg Brown is a 6-9 power forwards with plenty of athleticism and a guy who can rebound. Yet he has some weaknesses unappealing: a lack of professionalism, 60 turnovers to 10 assists, and nearly 6 fouls per 40 minutes. His defense must be more consistent and he seems less and less appealing to draft by the day. But, maybe a good head coach will try to cut out those problems and tell him to stop taking bad shots and making careless fouls.

Projected draft range: 30-55

6''8, 6''10 wingspan, 44 inch vertical. Slingshot shooting stroke needs work. NBA measurables, and athleticism. Drives left too much? Why does he take such a high volume of 3''s at this stage? 65% from FT shows he needs work shooting the rock. Straight line driver, no pull up game. Very raw. Potential rim runner and elite transition player. Can posterize and moves incredibly well. Excellent rebounder, especially offensively. While his offensive potential has a lot of growing to do and may never manifest his defensive potential is excellent and I have a hard time seeing him not excel at this in the NBA. REAL DEFENSIVE UPSIDE if he can learn to control his body and gain more discipline on attempted shot blocks. 2.2 BP/40 but 6.1 fouls per 40 is a concern. Needs to add weight, strength is an issue at the moment.

The best freshman in Texas has shown flashes of why he will get drafted. He makes big plays on both ends of the floor and is on a winner as a young prospect. Plays with great tenacity and defends well. He is a high energy player and is efficient offensively. His mid range game needs some help, but his long range and put backs go in a lot.

Greg is a highlight reel with phenomenal athleticism that would be great in the Pick and Roll. He would be a good 4 to have around Murray and Johnson

Even with Texas tanking, Greg Brown remains one of the best shows in college basketball. He''s an insane athlete with a high motor and low feel. Texas has been trying to play him at the wing, but his leaping ability and appetite for rebounds is drawing him closer to the basket. I think he''s that classic story of tweener with too high of a ceiling to pass up. He lacks the feel and patience of a guy like Brandon Clarke, but with a little bit more development might project as more of a wing player than him.

Brown''s a shrug, but after Bouknight, there''s a lot of high value shrugs and I like Brown.

Comp: Higher motor, less refined Aaron Gordon

Greg Brown was a 5-star recruit. Brown had an average freshman year for Texas averaging just 9 points per game. But I do think Brown will be a lottery pick this draft because of the upside that he has. I think of him as more of a 6''9 stretch 4. The perfect fit for Brown I think is the Golden State Warriors. I''m confident that Greg Brown can be a quality NBA player.

Energy is off the charts. Brown is great at crashing the glass offensively. Constantly puts pressure on interior defenders because of it.

Handle is shaky. Tends to try and do too much with the ball when he gets it. He’ll have a LOT of avoidable turnovers just by overdribbling.

Similar to handle, his shot needs a lot of work. Right now he has a low release point and shoot it basically in front of his face. He has the size and mobility of a self-creator, but his ball skills just are super raw. Shot okay from 3 percentage-wise, but the form isn’t encouraging and he could’ve done better from the FT line.

Massive lob threat. Literally the best dunker I’ve seen at this level since Zion and he’s probably better. He’s an MPG (Momentum Gaining Player). He isn’t afraid of confrontation at the rim and if he connects he’ll let you know about it. He reminds me of Marcus smart a bit with his attitude. It’ll cost you at times (he had some dumb technicals and he wears his emotions on his sleeve), but overally it’s a pretty fun thing to watch. I’d rather try to settle the fire than start the fire. There were some concerns about his attitude toward the end of the year. He had some meltdown in the Big 12 tournament over playing time and then his minutes were drastically reduced following that, BUT from what I’ve seen on the court his energy is and effort is awesome.

Instinctual cutter. Always looking for the lob. This also helps with his offensive rebounding.

Really sound defender. He’ll have some moments where he’s too aggressive and gets called for stupid fouls, but overall he moves his feet really well, he’s physical, and his length helps him impact shots. He’s a better version of Paul Reed in this sense. I came away amazed at his defensive potential.

Also a great shot blocker. As one of the best vertical athletes in the Draft, Brown uses his length really well to swat the shit out of these shots. He’s not really a center either, so he could be devastating as a weakside rim protector.

Showed decent off-ball instincts as well. Had some freshman mistakes, but I liked his awareness for the most part. It’s gonna come down to his offensive game catching up to his defense.
