Here is why I believe this trade makes sense for both sides.

The Orlando Magic to their credit have been really good to start this season. They are one of the top seeds in the east and have one of the league's best defenses. Having said that, their Achilles heel has been their poor shooting from the 3-point range, as they are one of the worst teams in the league from a statistical standpoint. This trade gives them one of the top-tier catch-and-shoot players in the league with Grayson Allen. They also get Yuta Watanabe who is amongst the best 3-point corner specialists in the league. Not to mention they also get a young forward in Nasir Little who still has time to develop on a very friendly 4 year contract. They get all of this while only giving up rotation players and a pick that's most likely going to be a late first-rounder. The cherry on top for the Magic, they also free up more cap space.

The Suns have had their ups and downs this year mainly due to injuries to their big 3. Grayson Allen and Eric Gordon have played well for the Suns but in my opinion, there is only room for one of them for two reasons. The first is that when the Big 3 is healthy, neither of them should start. I have this opinion I believe the best version of the Suns' lineup is when their 5th starter is an athletic forward. The Suns have struggled against teams with multiple athletic forwards so far due to our lack of size and versatility in the wing. The second reason why I believe there is only room for one of Eric Gordon or Grayson Allen is the emergence of Jordan Goodwin as the backup PG. He isn't as good as EG or GA on the offensive end but he has been really impressive as a point-of-attack defender. Goodwin offers something that no other guard on the SUns offers with his POA defense. Therefore he should stay in the rotation because of that. As good as EG and Allen have played so far, they do very similar things which are providing an offensive spark, and shooting 3s at a good clip, while competing on defense. It doesn't make sense to have a redundancy of skill sets, especially when you already have Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. Trading Allen makes the most sense because of his contract. Having said that, this trade is a huge gamble. Allen is the most valuable asset in this trade and the Suns are getting two players back with very big question marks in Jonathan Isaac and Okeke. That is why I only believe the Suns would take this gamble if they get a pick back. Jonathan Isaac is the perfect type of forward to have as the 5th starter for the Suns but his durability is a huge red flag. Okeke has underperformed his draft status but maybe a change of scenery will help his career. Not to mention that whoever is the 5th starter of the Suns has the easiest starting forward job in the league, as they will only be asked to defend, rebound, and make plays on offense when they are left open.
