DG and Mitchell have been an awkward fit since day one. In this scenario, Cleveland trades DG and Dean Wade (a guy who has been linked to Brooklyn in the past) as well as their current 1st round pick for Bridges and DFS (the only guy that makes the money work).

Brooklyn makes the move to get a young, All-Star caliber PG to build around with all their picks. Cleveland makes the move to further improve upon their stifling defense that currently has them as the 2nd best team in the East. Some may argue that Brooklyn can get more for Bridges if they look elsewhere, but they might also be undervaluing a proven NBA talent that Brooklyn can build around.

Worst case, Cleveland could add one of, or a combination of San Merrill, Emoni Bates and Craig Porter Jr. (As well as several 2nds) to sweeten the deal. That said, Bridges is a no. 2 option, I don’t know if he would get much more than an all-star caliber player and a 1st in a trade offer.
