I think trading Trae to SAS makes so much more sense and it is obviously time to rebuild, but theoretically if this team manages to somehow convince the front office that there is something working here, then maybe they decide that since they already gave up so many picks, rebuilding doesn't make sense unless they get them back. Hawks add an inside threat they have been sorely missing. A Trae and Sabonis pairing works for all the reasons it does with fox.

The Kings know this core isn't going to win them a title or even seriously contend for one, maybe they sell high on Sabonis and get back some valuable assets to build out the team around Fox long term.

Again, I think this is more of a fallback for if trading Trae Young isn't possible for whatever reason, but it does make the Hawks a top ~5 team in the east
