The Suns have been one of the disappointments of this season so far. Through battling with injuries and a lack of surrounding help, their mediocre record is underwhelming at best. The largest hole in their roster is at the starting point guard position. This trade allows them to fulfil that spot with the few assets they have left

SUNS

C - Nurkic PF - Durant SF- Booker SG - Beal PG - Morris

For the suns, this trade is self explanatory. They lack a single true playmaking guard on their roster. Morris (who is expected to return by the end of January) averaged 5.3 assists along with 10.3 points in just 27 minutes a night. The suns don’t have a lot to work with, and this trade makes do with the little assets they have to solve their largest issue.

PISTONS

The pistons don’t have a use for Monte Morris on their roster. Although he is a good player, he doesn’t meet their timeline. Trading him means more minutes for Jaden Ivey. Ivey hasn’t been getting the minutes many think he deserves, and Detroit can increase his minutes while getting something in return with this trade.
