SUCCESS

Mavs- Dallas has been lacking an athletic, scoring wing during Luka’s entire career here and now he gets one. While Derozan would want the ball in his hands more, it takes off more pressure on Luka and Kyrie when one of them is out (which is often). While Derozan is a suspect shooter, he is shooting 34% this year, which is slightly below league average but well above his career average. The Mavs lose a bit of shooting in losing THJ but Derozan is longer and more athletic and can create shots for himself. This could be the move that sends the Mavs over the top.

Bucks- Milwaukee desperately needs more defense and they get the guy they want. Caruso is an all defensive player who can hit the three pointer and handle the ball. He’s a great fit in Milwaukee and he slides right into the backup PG role for Dame. He can also play alongside Dame off the ball and he erases the defensive mistakes that the Bucks guards have often made.

Bulls- Chicago isn’t gonna contend anytime soon and this is them ripping the bandaid off. They land 3 first rounders and a bunch of seconds to load up their draft capital. They have to eat the Holmes and Connaughton contracts but Harris is expiring and Livingston’s is cheap and he’s young. Trading Derozan and Caruso hurts for Bulls fans but it’s a necessary move for this team.

Magic- Orlando has been great this year but they lack three point shooting. Hardaway is averaging 18.1 points per game while shooting 37% from three points range. He fits in perfectly with their lineup and he can help them push for a top-6 seed.
