Starting Lineups and Justifications

Toronto

Poeltl Barnes Anunoby Maxey Schroder

Notable Bench Players - Gradey Dick, Gary Trent Jr, Precious Achiuwa, Moses Moody, Jonathan Kuminga, Tobias Harris, Jalen McDaniels

Toronto is stuck in the worst place to be in major sports, mediocrity. Their current core has clearly not worked out. If Toronto seeks to move on from some of their pieces, they should be seeking a combination of young talent, and draft capital. This trade does exactly that. Although they take on the $40m expiring deal of Tobias Harris, they walk out of this trade with four young and promising players, one of whom has already proven to be a great NBA player. Additionally, they acquire some future draft capital. They accomplish this by parting ways with superstar Pascal Siakam, and veterans who's services are more valuable elsewhere. Despite trading away by far the best player in this deal, Toronto walks out of this trade with some valuable pieces for the future.

Golden State

Green Siakam Thompson Curry Paul

Notable Bench Players: Kevon Looney, Gary Payton, Dario Saric, Corey Joseph

Despite showing zero signs of slowing down, Golden State's core is aging. In order to maximize the last years of their primes, some big moves must be made. Trading for a solidified all-nba forward who can playmake, score, and defend at an elite level is an ideal way to upgrade the roster and make a finals push. Although they must trade away many of their young pieces, none of them have gotten, or would likely get an opportunity to play heavy minutes with the current roster. This trade allows the front office to capitalize on the value of these players. Although losing Wiggins is tough, the player they get in return is a significant upgrade and gives the Warriors arguably the best starting 5 in the NBA.

Philly

Embiid Wiggins Oubre Jr. Melton Harden

Notable Bench Players: Patrick Beverly, Chris Boucher, Danny Green, Otto Porter Jr., Thaddeus Young, Paul Reed, Mo Bamba, PJ Tucker

Over the last five seasons, Philly has struggled to sustain depth around their core players. This trade allows them to both upgrade their depth, as well as their starting lineup. Additionally, they get off of Tobias Harris' massive contract. Andrew Wiggins currently provides what many people hoped Tobias Harris would have. He brings consistent three level scoring as well as defensive hustle and effort. He's proven that he can be an amazing third option on a contending team. Additionally, the presence of many NBA champions such as Porter, Green, and Boucher off the bench would be fantastic for the locker room. Although parting with Maxey will be tough, Wiggins is the better player who fills a position of need, and would be necessary to offload the Harris contract. Philly manages to do all of this without giving up all of their future draft capital, which helps them come out of this deal winners.

Overall, this trade works very well for all sides. Do you guys think this trade works? What pieces should be added/dropped?
