It's virtually impossible to make a trade that includes CHI after this past trade deadline, but with all the conflicting speculation about them either rebuilding or competing for the playoffs, this trade allows both HOU and CHI to prepare for next season with the playoffs in mind.

CHI would do this trade in preparation for the upcoming draft and after, adding Green and future 2nds that ensure they can build out their roster through the draft (having only their 1st round picks for draft capital until 2028, not including the 1-10 protected that the SAS possess). A White-Green backcourt could help bolster their fast break offense that's ranked bottom 5 in the league. Also having Green for what would be a contract season almost guarantees improved production (shot selection/TS% and TPG come easily to mind). The only major setback would be if they signed Josh Christopher.

HOU benefits in this trade for having one of the premiere rotational PGs in the league, filling an important team need and putting them toward championship contention. It would be especially important for possible in-state Doncic, Topic matchups (SAS-Topic is a prediction ofc).

Overall this seems like a great trade for both sides prior to/during the 2024 draft, and I hope to hear how it isn't in the comments below.
