Reasoning for the Orlando Magic
Orlando recieve: Gary Trent Jr.
Orlando give up: Jalen Suggs, Jonathan Isaac, 2025 BOS/MEM SRP, 2027 BOS SRP
Why they do this: It's been two years since Suggs has been picked at 5th by Orlando and he hasn't done enough to justify that selection. His minutes has been reduced and will continue to do so as Magic selected two guards in their draft. It's the perfect time for Orlando to cash in on his value while it's still somewhat intact. GTJ is a great fit for a team that is desperate for shooting and perimeter defending, and his age coincides perfectly with their young core, with their starting 5 all going to be under 25.

Boston give up: Malcolm Brogdon
Why they do this: Brogdon can be a crybaby sometimes in the locker room and while he can shoot the ball well and is a great sparkplug off the bench, the C's desperately need a ball handler and Brogdon isn't that while still being a flight risk. Suggs is a good defender and ball handler and while he may not be a great scorer, Boston is more than sorted in that department. Celtics also need a backup wing and Isaac's defence off the bench would be much appreciated if he can stay healthy.

Toronto recieve: Malcolm Brogdon, 2027 BOS SRP
Toronto give up: Gary Trent Jr.
Why they do this: This offseason Toronto will have to resign Siakam who will want a max contract, and OG who will want a value close to it especally since Jerami Grant got a five-year, $160 million contract. Couple that with the facts that GTJ hasn't signed an extension yet, Barnes will want a rookie max soon and that the Raptors are already over the cap means that there is a very high chance they'll lose Trent to free agency. Brogdon is a similar shooter stats-wise and is a more all-rounded player with more experience that can be added to the dressing room, and most importantly is locked up contractually for the next two years.
