This trade helps the Spurs gets an experienced PG for Wemby and allows the Blazers to trade Brogdon for picks as they already have a lot of guard depth.

Spurs: The spurs don’t have a strong PG next to Wemby to really let his talent fly so to make full use of it the get Brogdon. He will help Wemby a lot in his development but also helping them win a couple of games. They can flip him later in the future but it’s nice having a reliable player that can bring a solid mindset to this squad.

Trailblazers: Portland already has enough guards so they might as well try and get something for them while they are somewhat valuable. They trade Brogdon for McDermott who will create cap space when his contract ends. Devonte Graham who could develop into something but after two years can also be dumped for cap space. Then lastly they gain two SRP which help with their rebuild to possibly bring more youth into this squad.
