Reportedly, this is the deal that went down for Jrue Holiday between the Bucks and the Pelicans. Milwaukee should have perhaps substituted one of those picks with DiVincenzo and Bender in my opinion. I felt giving up two first rounders, Bledsoe, Bender, Donte DiVincenzo, and Ilyasova should have been enough.

First, why did Milwaukee give up both Bledsoe and Hill? Now, they have no backup PG while the Pelicans have three point guards all competing for minutes at one position in Lonzo Ball, George Hill, and Eric Bledsoe. The Pelicans did not address some of the other issues in their squad. Bender may have been their long-term stretch-5 in the future and DiVincenzo their SG.

Second, I feel both sides could've secured a big W had the Pelicans got DiVincenzo and Bender because both of them would've developed in New Orleans. Had they done this, Bucks may have only needed to give two, not three firsts. What if Giannis leaves?

Third, while I like Holiday to the Bucks, both sides could have done this differently. Two draft picks, Ilyasova, Bledsoe, DiVincenzo, and Bender is an extremely balanced deal. Bucks get Holiday and NO go young and get two players who have steady future roles and two veterans. Now, looking at it from NO perspective, they get two guys who play the same position behind Lonzo Ball. The way this was done deprives Milwaukee depth and doesn't solve some of the roster holes (long-term SG, stretch five) which exist on the Pelicans roster.

Lastly, New Orleans has 3 point guards and didn't utilize Holiday to address the other needs of their team such as a better SG potentially or stretch five. Also, Milwaukee solely has Holiday at PG.

I think Holiday is very good, but still...
