Smart has been sensational in the playoffs. Dallas could use his defensive expertise, no doubt about it. Although Celtics would be very doubtful to give him up, in this deal they get some very good depth pieces.

Theis is another player that has impressed, but the Celtics needs for another big man of a high standard on both ends, is still apparent. Having both Theis and Kleber on decent contracts would be a good move for the team. You also get a very good backup defender in Dorian, who can guard multiple positions.

Jalen Brunson is a young player who has really impressed since coming into the league. He can be a very good PG off the bench, and is certainly an improvement over Wanamaker.

You may think the Celtics don't need the extra draft capital, but it is always nice to have. They can easily attach them picks, and some of their existing picks, to Hayward and get another star for the team. Maybe they could make a push for a player like Oladipo, Beal, Vucevic, or even Embiid.
