For Phoenix, this is simple… They have constructed a win-now team that can’t even win one playoff game. They’ll need to make some major adjustments this offseason. Two things are true if they’re trading KD: 1) they’ll be getting a king’s ransom and 2) Bradley Beal will likely be attached to KD due to his no trade clause (The Suns will want Beal gone, but he dictates where he can go. Trading him, with KD, to another contender is a sure fire way of getting rid of him).

For the Knicks, several things are true here… 1) They can send a combination of ANY 4 of the following contracts to make the money work here: Brunson, Randle, OG, Hart, Bogdanovic, Burks, and Robinson. 2) In addition to that, they can send a maximum of 8 first round picks and 3 pick swaps (and that doesn’t even include the 2nds they have). 3) They want to compete and they want to do it now.

With all of those things in mind for both teams, the question becomes, what would New York be willing to do to get KD? Would they trade all their draft picks and several good players (as well as a bad contract or two) in order to land KD? Would they also be willing to take on Beal’s terrible contract and his no trade clause in order to make it happen? You guys will have to let me know. I think this is one of the most realistic “Superstar to the Knicks” trades out there, but what do I know?
