Why the Nets do it?

If the rumors are true, KD and Kyrie are on their way out. Kyrie's trade value and market is at an all-time low due to his shenanigans this past season. Taking into account that the Nets are also not interested in Westbrook, getting 3 expiriring contracts and 2 first round picks isn't the worst return. Another rumor is that the Nets are seeking 2 first round picks in a trade for Irving. Conley, Bogdanovic, Powell, and Nunn are also solid players with their own trade value on the market. They are also much better fits next to Simmons and KD (for the mean time) than Westbrook or THT.

Why the Lakers do it?

It's obvious so I'm not gonna go into too much depth. Kyrie is a clear upgrade over the disaster of a Westbrook experiment and the Lakers also get 2 great role players in Curry and Beverley. After their recent signings, the Lakers should target shooters and this trade accomplishes that.

Why the Jazz do it?

Since Gobert's departure, rumors have been surrounding a Mitchell trade. The Miami Heat have been the primary candidate for a trade for months now. The Jazz get great value in Tyler Herro, THT, Josh Green, Omer Yurtseven, & 4 first round picks. Even though they would absorb Bertan's and Robinson's bad contracts, they wouldn't be competing anytime soon. This is why they would also be trading away Clarkson, Bogdanovic, Gay, and Conley. With that said and all of their guards traded, Westbrook actually fits surprisingly ok with this team.

Why the Heat do it?

Miami's championship window is closing unless they do something drastic and quick. Donovan Mitchell has been on their radar for months, and now is the time to make a trade. The Heat were 1 game away from making the NBA Finals and this could potentially push them over the hump. Giving up 3 first round picks may be a bit steep, but the Jazz will be looking for a high price since Mitchell will garner attention from many teams in the NBA.

Why the Mavericks do it?

They do this because they need extra depth after Brunson's departure to New York. Clarkson can provide some of the offense that Brunson contributed and O'neale can provide extra perimeter defense. Giving up Bertans works fine because they get a cheaper deal in Rudy Gay, and the Jazz can afford to take Bertan's contract. Giving up Powell also clears the front court logjam with their FA addition of Javale McGee.

Starting 5's:

Nets: Simmons, Conley, Durant, Bogdanovic, Powell

Lakers: Irving, Walker, James, Davis, Bryant

Jazz: Westbrook, Herro, Green, Vanderbilt, Yurtseven

Heat: Lowry, Mitchell, Oladipo, Butler, Adebayo

Mavericks: Doncic, Dinwiddie, Bullock, Finney-Smith, Wood
