Warriors - The Warriors are a team on the decline who need to take risks if they want to win another championship. Porzingis is a high-risk, high-reward player who has injury issues, but can play at an all-star level under the perfect circumstances. The goal with him is to hope he's perfectly healthy every playoff series to give the Warriors the extra edge they need to make it to the Finals.

Mavericks - The Mavericks are clearing up cap space while also gaining a few extra draft picks. Powell doesn't add much that they don't already get from WCS for less money, and KP is an unnecessary risk. Luka is the best young prospect in the league, and the Mavs don't need to risk his future with a player like KP to win a championship. The draft picks would give them a chance to go after an all-star talent. The cap space would let them make a big free agency signing on a safer player. Luka is probably the closest Kevin Love will ever get to Ricky Rubio when Love played at his peak, and he would play better in Dallas than he has in Cleveland.

Cleveland - Cleveland is getting out from under Love's contract (who doesn't really fit on that team anymore) while bringing in a serviceable backup for Jarret Allen, and a starting-caliber Small Forward. Powell is a similar value proposition to Larry Nance so he doesn't add much, but the main reason to do this is to get rid of Kevin Love. This move assumes they are also trading Larry Nance somewhere else.
