The Pelicans are allegedly looking to shed salary to ensure they stay below the tax line, and the two players that have been identified as potential pieces to move are Valaciunas and Lewis. They signed Zeller seemingly as insurance in a move off of Jonas, and they have plenty of other guards limited Lewis's development. So here they move both while acquiring a guy in Holmes to help soak up the loss of Valanciunas and add a solid haul of second round picks as well.

Dallas would acquire the size and rebounding they are desperately lacking inside as a bridge player while Lively develops, and the Nets would take a shot on a young former high draft pick who has disappointed so far, the exact kind of player a team in their position should take a bet on for a low cost.
