Why each team does it:

Hawks: The current backcourt experiment has failed. This deal moves Murray, acquires 3 future firsts, adds a big, and adds two different guards to compliment Trae. Dyson is the bigger defender while Hawkins is the deadly shooter.

The T'wolves make a big splash by moving KAT. With the emergence of Naz Reid, they opt to add a much needed wing. KAT nets them BI, a 1st rd pick, and a starting spot for Naz.

The Pelicans go all in by dealing multiple picks and players. The resulting lineup is balanced and elite. Murray, CJ, Herb, Zion, and KAT. Jose, Trey, and Naji off the bench. They will need to sign a veteran big in FA.

If the T’Wolves balk, NO will be motivated to sweeten the deal with additional picks and/or swaps. If landing Murray AND Towns is possible, they find a way to finish the deal.
