If the wolves decide to trade KAT this might be enough to entertain a phone call for a few minutes.

New Orleans

Benefits of the trade

  • KAT stretches the floor alongside CJ and Trey to allow for more perimeter options alongside Zion.

  • KAT has a a great scoring profile which can allow Willie more flexibility to play him as both C and PF depending on the matchup and whos available.

  • KAT solves the center issue all-together while still offering great shooting and defense.

Minnesota

Benefits of the trade

  • Brandon is a mid-range phenom with a deadly impact off the dribble who can follow up Ant with ease and allow for more interior threats from both sides of the floor.

  • Brandon offers much more speed off the dribble with strong finishing and a 3-way scoring bag KAT doesn't have.

  • BI measures in at 6'8"-6'9" which means the Wolves don't give up too much size for this trade and can still take advantage of size in the right matchups.

As a Pelicans fan, it PAINS me to give Brandon to a conference opponent. But the swap makes sense since it gives both teams positives they can use to their advantage. Granted, Minnesota would have ALL the leverage in this deal given their standings and KAT's time left on his contract; meaning the picks will likely be more expensive than what I have shown. That said, if the two teams wanted to make a shocker trade to improve both rosters this could be something worth entertaining as I don't think a better option for KAT will creep it's way this offseason.
