Why OKC does this: they get off of two crappy contracts (Bertrans and Micic) and get two legit starters to help their depth and size for playoffs, without changing their starting rotation. If they are to go anywhere in the West they will need someone like Yak who can bang with the Joker and AD.

Why Atlanta does this: they need a shake up and are shopping Dejonte Murray because it doesn’t seem to work with Trey Young. They have OO as their big of the future so Capella is on his way out and they have been shopping Hunter for awhile. They get Siakam who would be perfect as Young’s 2nd option and GT3 as a shooter off of Trey. A lineup of: Young, GT3, JJ, Siakam, OO could push for a playoff run in the East.

Why Raptors do this: So many issues with the Raps, but this is a big step in the right direction to building around Scottie Barnes, which has to be the direction forward. This reverses the Yak trade at last year’s trade deadline that added to the weird roster build. Raps get Murray, who becomes part of the new young core of Barnes, OG, and Murray going forward. They replace Yak with Capella whose game fits better with Darko’s style, and get a FRP and 2 seconds to help build. They also get two interesting development pieces in Puko and Joe; plus some Euro vets (Bertrans and Micic) to make Darko happy. Possible Raps lineup: Murray, Scottie, Dick, OG, Capella.
