In this scenario Brandon Miller was selected 2nd by the Charlotte Hornets.

Portland Trailblazers shop the #3 pick around, Houston Rockets seize the opportunity and greases the skids for a major trade.

Houston receives #3, to select Sterling Henderson. Houston sends a major haul for their guy. #4, KJ Martin and returning some picks from the Harden trade to the Brooklyn Nets as well as Kevin Porter Jr. and #20 to the Trailblazers.

Portland receives Mikal Bridges and KPJ, as well as pick #20. Portland sends #3 to Houston and Anfernee Simons to Brooklyn. My thought is Portland only gives up one pick for Bridges, Simons and Porter are similar players but Porter is on a much better contract which opens them up to keep Grant. Lillard, Porter, Bridges, Grant, Nurkic is a decent 5.

Brooklyn receives Simons, Martin and 3 picks including #4. Brooklyn sends Bridges to Portland. Feel like this kicks off a rebuild well with 3 young, exciting athletes and regaining lost draft capital for a player who is not a max level player.

Steep price for Houston but bidding for the services of a potential game breaking point guard is like that and Houston had the goods to get it done. They walk away from the tank loaded with prospects including Henderson, Green, Eason, Smith and Sengun as a potential starting 5.
