SPURS: Derrick White to me is just a worse version of Dejounte Murray. Both are defensive guards, and White is just worse then Murray. He is also older. The Spurs have a great defensive backcourt, and trading him for an offensive guard still would make their guard defense very good with Vassell and Murray. This trade does just that. Malik Beasley is a 20 PPG scorer, and his efficiency is good. This gets them some offense, and he can potentially replace Demar when he might leave in free agency. Beasley is averaging nearly 20 points on good efficiency, and can maybe do (minus the playmaking) be the Demar Derozan. Although they lose defense, they badly need offense and they have Poetle.

timberwolves: The Timberwolves aren't a good defensive team. Culver isn't developing like a 6th pick should, so they get him some help. Their were some rumors about him a Jrue for the 1st pick, and it seems like the Timberwolves could be going win-now move. This gets the Timberwolves some help, and they also get a pick. Offensively, they still should be good enough, assuming they keep their pick this year they can draft an offensive minded player like Jalen Green or Cade Cunningham to have the 3rd offensive player.
