Why the Bulls do it:

• They get off of Thad's contract and open up more minutes for young bigs

• Conley can mentor Coby and be a stable ball handler. He can allow LaVine to play offball and also provides some leadership.

• Utah's first round pick

Why the Jazz do it:

• Porter and Young add wing depth, defense, and shooting (particularly in Otto's case)

• Mitchell should be the primary ball handler and PG, so while Conley was great in the playoffs, wing depth is more important for the team fit

• Shaq could be signed with the BAE, but including him in a sign-and-trade makes more sense.
