“Bogdanovic never agreed to the terms of any deal and cannot be offered a deal until free agency begins Friday. The Athletic reported the deal was ‘in peril’ because that element of an already complicated agreement ‘has become a major issue.’ The trade can’t be finalized until the free agency signing period begins at 12:01 ET Sunday, so the two teams might have time to salvage the deal.”

Bogdanovic rejected a four-year, $51.4 million extension from the Sacramento Kings in the fall of 2019.

He can seek another sign-and-trade or become a restricted free agent on Friday. With his relationship with the Bucks now seemingly damaged, the Serbian swingman is likely to target another team.

The Bucks brass was hoping the Bogdanovic acquisition would be the icing on the cake that persuades Giannis Antetokounmpo to sign a five-year supermax extension before the Dec. 21 deadline.
