Why The Blazers Do It: This move is the epitome of a win-now type of move. Getting George Hill who is about as dependable as they come for a veteran guard in the NBA, would help immensely in their pursuit of the playoffs. Also having played in 127 playoff games would be a huge plus. Muscala isn’t just some “throw-in” he has actually been playing really well for OKC this season. He has career highs in PPG (9.8) and 2P% (62%). He’s also shooting a very impressive 37% from beyond the arc on close to 6 attempts per game. He would be a nice shooting alternative to Kanter & Giles at backup, who can’t stretch the floor at all. The main thing this organization should be doing is giving the right kind of vibes to their franchise player Dame, and this move would do exactly that.

Why OKC Does This: Nassir Little fits perfectly in what Presti likes in a young basketball player. Long, very athletic, and needs improvement shooting the ball. Nassir would be a fun project for Daigneault to work on, and could form a pretty impressive wing duo with Dort. Someone of Nassir’s raw potential should be given time to be worked on, that won’t happen in Portland where he’s barely getting any time, with getting buried beneath all of the 3s and 4s on the team. With Collins, Presti gets a very talented big man who if he can stay healthy, could for sure be apart of OKC’s young core going forward. He’s a RFA this off-season, but with the amount of cap space that OKC will have, it shouldn’t be an issue with matching any offer he’ll get this summer. Adding a Blazers 2022 2nd is a good little throw in also, and will add to Presti’s ridiculous number of future picks.
