IF YOU HAVE STARS, ADD DEFENSE

FILL TEAM HOLES OVER ADDING TALENT

WHY DO YOU THINK THE LAKERS ADDED GREEN, KCP, and RONDO

AND THIS OFFSEASON ADDING SCHROEDER TO FILL HOLES

The Clippers need a playmaker PG. The Sixers need perimeter creation. The Nuggets need defense. The Bucks need shooting and playmaking. The Heat need consistent self-creation. The celtics need defensive big bigs.The Raptors need consistent self-creation. Whatever. You get the point. But if you don't understand why the Lakers added those guys, or why the heat traded for Jae Crowder and Iggy, then you don't understand how playoff basketball works. You need players to guard other superstars. To win a chip you will play 4-12 stars. You need perimeter locks, lengthy forwards, and paint presences because superstars need to be defended to win. The Nets didn't need this. I like them better with their former team. If you have superstars, who can create insane amounts of consistent offense that will win games, add the defenders to stop others from matching that. The only exceptions are the Clippers and Bucks because they already have so much defense it's ridiculous.
