Getting the Mavs back on track (3/3)

SUCCESS

The Mavs trade Boban Marjanovic, Wes Iwundu, Jalen Brunson, Josh Green, and two first round picks (one protected through selections 1-8) to the Hawks in exchange for John Collins and Brandon Goodwin.

In this trade, the Mavs solidify their frontcourt by adding John Collins, a young star who is seemingly unhappy with the Hawks, his current team. He might cost a lot, but for the Mavs, I think it’s worth it. Collins would bring some solid shooting to the team, which they desperately need. He would fit well with KP in the frontcourt and would make that starting lineup a whole lot stronger. The Mavs could sign him to an extension and have him locked up long term with their other 2 stars. This makes for a promising future for the Mavs.

The Hawks get great return for Collins as they load up in young players and picks. They add depth to their backcourt while getting an expiring big who could mentor some of the younger bigs on the team. This big part about this trade is those two first round picks. They are in 2025 and 2027, two years in which we don’t know what the Mavs will look like nor do we know if KP or even Doncic for that matter will still be around (Doncic will likely still be their though).

Is this a fair trade? Please like and comment your thoughts!
