First of all, this is out of nowhere. When the fuck did Dame request a trade, or the team say they would trade him? Are Blazers fans, and more importa1ntly Damian himself ready to let go? Idgaf about that. Let's review offers:

1: CJ is the guy. Knunn, Precious, Iggy, and every pick possible for Dame. They add young talent at the PG position who can start now, in the frontcourt who can get great minutes on this team, and picks. The verdict: Portland finishes 9th, Miami finishes 1st, and the offer is declined.

2: The Simmons route. Simmons, Thybulle, and hella picks for Damian. Portland doesn't want this. They would trade CJ for Simmons, but I doubt they think he can ever be the guy that Dame is right now for them. The verdict: Portland finishes 6th, Philly finishes 1st, and the offer is declined.

3: The Harden route. The Bulls receive Dame, the Rockets receive Coby White and Lauri Markkanen, and the Blazers recieve John Wall, Eric Gordon, Al-Faruq Aminu, 2 Brooklyn picks, 1 Chicago pick, and 1 throw-in pick from the Rockets. This one is fucking ridiculous, and before you say that this is impossible, Harden went to Brooklyn and Jarret Allen and Oladipo and Levert all got moved. Portland gets 4 decent picks, all boom-or-bust types, plus John Wall to keep them competitive and vets they like. Houston adds 2 young guys that they would love to develop, both showing incredible promise at some point. Chicago sells a guy they don't like, want, or need, and a guy they like, want, and need for the guy they like, want, and need more than anyone else. The verdict: Portland finishes 7th, Houston finishes 11th, Chicago finishes 4th, and Portland considers it. If they trust Wall and those picks, they pick up key vets to become a competitive team with extra picks each year. It seems like the worst offer, but so did the final Harden return and they accepted because of a belief.
