Coby- I love what we see from him without Zach. The difference between a guy like Lauri and a guy like Coby is what happens when things aren't ideal for them. Facing good teams without Zach while barely staying afloat isn't ideal for development. But Coby steps up during these moments and Lauri fades away. We can't accommodate the needs of every young guy on the squad. We just can't with Zach and Vooch and Theis and Thad and Tomas trying to win right now. Especially if AK can pull another star this offseason (Demar). So the difference between young guys destined for greatness and role players with expectations is enforcing your will and your role on the game. Coby steps up. Coby works on his playmaking and defense. He wants to win. Ship Lauri's ass out of here now. Get Demar, or get pick(s), or a defense guy we like. But don't get Zo, or Spencer, or Dennis, or whoever because Coby is the real deal. Add a Pat Bev to really push him. Or a Patty Mills. But rough times show reality.
Patrick- Not liking what's happening right now. Next year will be a lot more telling with our team expecting to compete with a real roster that AK likes. Hopefully he starts being more aggressive, but it's fine right now to focus on defense because we definitely need it.
Lauri- Start fielding offers now. Nothing on his talent- he can be a 20 ppg scorer and a real contributor on numerous teams. But we can't accommodate him right now and he's a cupcake. He's up for his first contract and barely shoots the ball! San Antonio, or Boston, or someone in need of a third scorer who can work with playmakers to contribute. But it's clear he's not in our future anymore. Thad, Theis, or moving Patrick are all way better options this offseason.
